Damaskos Archaic Braided 18K Gold Bracelet with Emeralds
A wide braided 18K gold bracelet with a hand-hammered martillé finish, giving the surface a soft, velvety texture. Granulation detail and two oval emeralds — each 4x3mm — are set by hand in the Damaskos atelier in Athens. Archaic in reference, precise in execution.
About The Product
The Archaic Braided Bracelet is among the widest and most sculptural pieces in the Damaskos collection. Broad braided bands in 18K gold are finished with a martillé surface — a hand-hammered technique that diffuses light and creates a warm, matte texture distinct from polished gold. Two oval emeralds, each 4x3mm, are set at the center alongside granulation detail: the ancient goldsmithing practice of fusing tiny spheres of gold to the surface without solder.
The bracelet is handcrafted entirely in the Damaskos atelier in Athens. Martillé finishing requires a skilled hand to achieve even texture across a curved surface — each strike of the hammer is deliberate and unrepeatable. Granulation, a technique documented in Greek and Etruscan antiquity, is executed here using the same fusion methods refined over centuries. The piece weighs 15 grams of 18K gold, substantial enough to have presence on the wrist without rigidity.
Damaskos has worked within the Archaic and Byzantine goldsmithing traditions for decades, treating these techniques as living practice rather than historical reference. The bracelet pairs naturally with other pieces from the Damaskos Archaic line — rings, earrings, or a pendant in the same finish — and is built to be worn, inherited, and worn again.
