Damaskos Byzantine Floral 18K Gold Bangle with Diamonds
A hinged 18K gold bangle shaped by the martillé technique — a hand-hammered process that produces a velvety, light-diffusing surface texture. Floral Byzantine motifs are detailed with granulation, and 18 round diamonds totaling 0.36 ct are set across the band.
About The Product
This hinged bangle is built around a floral Byzantine motif — a design rooted in the decorative vocabulary of the Eastern Roman Empire. What distinguishes it within the Damaskos collection is the combination of surface texture and stone setting: the gold is worked to a tactile finish before the ornamental detail is applied.
The bangle is crafted in 18K gold and finished using the martillé technique, a hand-hammering method that creates a fine, velvety surface which scatters light rather than reflecting it directly. Granulation — the application of tiny fused gold spheres used by Greek and Etruscan goldsmiths as far back as the third millennium BC — traces the floral motifs across the surface. Eighteen round diamonds, totaling 0.36 carats, are set within the design. The piece weighs 15 grams and is constructed as a hinged bangle, allowing it to open and close cleanly at the wrist.
Damaskos is an Athenian atelier that has worked within classical and Byzantine goldsmithing traditions for decades, producing each piece by hand. This bangle pairs naturally with other pieces from the Damaskos Byzantine line — rings, earrings, and necklaces that share the same motif language — and is built for both daily wear and occasions that call for something with history behind it.
