Damaskos Archaic 18K Gold Pendant with Minoan Rodaka
Shaped in 18K gold with a hand-hammered martillé finish, this pendant centers on a Minoan-era Rodaka — a stylized flower motif drawn from ancient Greek art. The velvety texture of the martillé surface gives the gold a depth that polished metal cannot replicate.
About The Product
This pendant is defined by a single, deliberate motif: the Rodaka, a floral form rooted in Minoan art that has recurred in Greek goldsmithing for over three thousand years. Set at the center of the piece, it reads as both ornament and reference — a precise quotation from one of the oldest decorative traditions in the Western world.
The surface is finished using a martillé technique, in which the gold is worked with a small hammer across the entire face of the piece. The result is a finely textured, matte-like surface that catches light differently at every angle — softer than polished gold, more tactile than brushed. The pendant is cast and finished in 18K gold, weighing approximately 5.50 grams. No gemstones are set; the gold itself is the material statement.
Damaskos is an Athens-based atelier with decades of work in archaeological-revival goldsmithing — producing pieces that draw directly from museum-held originals rather than interpreting them loosely. This pendant is suited to everyday wear and to occasions where a single, considered piece is enough. It arrives as part of the Brilliant Athens Elite Collection.
