Damaskos Archaic Chevron Hinged Bangle 22K Gold
A hinged bangle in 22K gold, formed from two semicircular sections joined by a cylindrical hinge on one side and a concealed clasp on the other. The raised chevron pattern across the surface was created using repoussé — an ancient technique in which the design is hammered from the reverse side of the metal. Made entirely by hand in the Damaskos atelier, Athens.
About The Product
The Archaic Chevron Hinged Bangle is a solid 22K gold cuff built on a structural logic borrowed from antiquity. Two identical semicircular sections articulate at a cylindrical hinge on one side and close with a hidden clasp on the other — a form that sits flush against the wrist and opens cleanly without hardware visible on the exterior.
The surface pattern is produced through repoussé, one of the oldest techniques in goldsmithing. Working from the reverse side of the metal, the artisan hammers the design outward, raising the chevron motif in relief without cutting or casting. The result is a texture that holds light differently at every angle. The bangle weighs 15 grams — substantial for its scale — and is worked in 22K gold throughout. No stones. No plating. The material is the statement.
Damaskos has operated as a specialist atelier in Athens for decades, producing pieces directly referenced from museum collections and archaeological finds. This bangle draws on Archaic-period goldsmithing conventions — geometric surface patterning, structural symmetry, and the repoussé tradition that predates classical Greek civilization. It is designed for daily wear and built to last across generations.
