Damaskos Byzantine 18K Gold Cross with Rubies, Emeralds & Diamonds

About The Product
The Byzantine Colonnade Cross is one of the most architecturally detailed pieces in the Damaskos collection. Its form references the columned arcades of Byzantine sacred architecture, rendered in solid 18K gold and set with a carefully arranged trio of gemstones — oval ruby, square emeralds, and a single diamond at the center.
The cross is finished with a martillé technique: a hand-hammering process applied directly to the gold surface to produce a fine, velvety texture that catches light differently from every angle. No two pieces are identical — the depth and pattern of the martillé vary slightly with each strike of the tool. The piece weighs 20 grams and carries 0.45 carats of rubies, 0.40 carats of emeralds, and 0.02 carats of diamonds, all set by hand in the Damaskos atelier in Athens.
Damaskos has worked within the traditions of ancient Greek goldsmithing for decades, treating techniques like martillé, granulation, and hand-setting not as aesthetic choices but as the foundational method of every piece. This cross is built for daily wear and long ownership — the weight and construction are intended to last across generations without restoration.
