Damaskos Archaic Geometric 22K Gold Hinged Bangle
A wide hinged bangle in 22K gold, its embossed geometric pattern formed using repoussé — an ancient technique in which the design is hammered from the reverse side of the metal. Two semicircular sections meet at a cylindrical hinge on one side and a hidden clasp on the other. Handcrafted in the Damaskos atelier, Athens.
About The Product
The Archaic Geometric Hinged Bangle is a wide-form cuff in 22K gold, structured in two symmetrical semicircular sections. The raised geometric patterning across its surface references Archaic-period motifs — bold, ordered, and without ornamental excess. It opens and closes at a hidden clasp, with a cylindrical attachment on the opposite side providing a secure, comfortable fit.
The surface relief is achieved through repoussé, one of the oldest metalworking techniques in the Greek tradition. In repoussé, the artisan hammers the design from the back of the gold sheet, pushing the metal forward into relief without removing material. The result is a pattern with depth and dimension that casting cannot replicate. The bangle weighs 15 grams and is worked in 22K gold, giving it both wearable weight and structural integrity.
Damaskos has produced museum-quality replicas and original works rooted in ancient Greek metallurgy for decades, working from their Athens atelier using techniques that have changed little since antiquity. This bangle is designed for daily wear — substantial enough to read as a statement piece, refined enough to sit alongside other work. It functions equally as a personal acquisition or as an heirloom passed forward.
