Damaskos Byzantine 18K Gold Pendant with Ruby & Diamonds

This pendant draws directly from Byzantine jewelry tradition, built around a central oval ruby framed by intricate ornamental goldwork and finished with black platinum — a contrast technique that defines the depth and relief of the design. Two smaller round rubies flank the center stone, with diamond accents completing the arrangement. It is not a minimalist piece. It is designed to be noticed.

The setting combines hand-formed 18K gold with black platinum detailing applied to accentuate the raised decorative elements. The rubies total 1.15 carats — one oval stone measuring 5x7mm and two round stones at 2.30mm each. The 0.13-carat diamond accents are individually set to follow the symmetry of the composition. Every component is shaped and assembled by hand at the Damaskos atelier in Athens, using techniques passed down through the workshop’s decades of practice in historical Greek goldsmithing.
